Sonya Delaney Miller Trusty

Sonya Delaney Miller Trusty, 56, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2022. Born on April 27, 1966 in Cherry Point, NC, Sonya is the daughter of Linda King and the late Richard Trusty. She was a graduate of Englewood High School in New Jersey. Through the years, Sonya held many jobs but really enjoyed doing hair. She was an upbeat, high-spirited person who loved to dance and will be remembered as the "life of the party." Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Trusty and her sister, Rhonda Bamberg.

She is survived by her mother, Linda King; three children, Deshawn Trusty of New Bern, Blaine Malachi of Hawaii, and Tiffany Malachi of New Bern; three grandchildren, Charity Powell, A'ziyah Malachi, and Semaj'e King; and three sisters, Rosalind Trusty, Rose Metz, and Nykeba Cross; one brother, Jermaine Cross; companion, Bernard Taylor; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel.
