Thongsook Schlau, 65, of Arapahoe, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Carolina East Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Sue, as she preferred to be called was originally from Thailand.
She met her husband while he was serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. In 1972, she made the trip to the United States where she became a devoted housewife, supportive and caring mother to her two girls. Sue never met a stranger and was always willing to open her home to Marines who served with her son-in-law. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing whatever it took to make them smile. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cooking for everyone, and gardening. Sue could make anything grow and blossom. Her thai cooking will be truly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Schlau; daughters, Kim Brass and her husband Clay, Virginia Hancock and her husband Dennis; three grandchildren, Trey, Dylan, and Hayden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Thailand.
The family would like to thank all of her friends, family and New Life Church for all of their prayers, love and support.
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
