

Timothy Robert Hinkin ,72, of New Bern, North Carolina and Key Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, after a long, hard-fought battle. He leaves behind his loving wife Linda, sisters Terry Long of Chandler, Arizona and Sara Mayo and brother-in-law Brad of Hopkinton, Massachusetts and Linda’s sister Laurie Stinson and her husband Darrell of Clio, Michigan. Tim also had 9 nieces and nephews. He was the beloved son of Robert and Sally Hinkin of Saginaw, Michigan who predeceased him.
Tim was born on February 16, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan. He Graduated from Douglas MacArthur high school. He then went on to Michigan State University where he met Linda. His academic pursuit of excellence led him to receive his PhD at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He and Linda moved to Crozet, Virginia where he taught at University of Virginia in Charlottesville for six years. From there it was on to Ithaca, New York, where he was a professor of organizational behavior in the hospitality school at Cornell University for 27 years until his retirement. He was beloved by all his students and positively impacted many of their lives.
Tim and Linda were married 44 years. He will be the love of her life, forever and always.
