Verna Harwood

She was a hairdresser for over 50 years. Verna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past Worthy Matron in Pennsylvania, she was a member of the Sportsman Club and she was the Commador for the Nautiettes in Florida. Her interests included fishing, crabbing, gardening, exercise and her Methodist faith was very important to her. She retired to New Bern from Cape Coral, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Michael Harwood.

Verna is survived by her son, Jerry Harwood and wife Mallory, one sister, Stella Wendoloski all of New Bern; and two granddaughters, Lesle and Kristen Harwood.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
