Verna Anne Laughinghouse

She will be survived by her daughter, JoAnn Rolison, her Grandson Herbert William Rolison IV, and Great Grandson, Ryan A. Davenport, all of New Bern NC; brother, Clifton Casey of Florence, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Verna Anne is preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Laughinghouse, her beloved son, Keith Laughinghouse, and her granddaughter, Allyson Cameron all of New Bern; Her sister, Virginia Beckham of Norcross GA; and brother, Bobby Casey of Apex NC.

Verna Anne was a loving wife, grandmother, and a true light within the family. She was born in Wyse Fork, NC to J.P. "June" Casey and Beulah Gooding. After marrying the love of her life, she moved to New Bern where the happy couple made their home. Verna worked many years doing the book keeping for her husband’s businesses. After retirement they traveled the United States and had many great adventures together. The family loved hearing her stories of the numerous places they were able to visit during their "Golden Years". They truly lived a blessed life.

She was also an active member in Broad Street Christian Church and enjoyed fellowship with friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her church family. She was also a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 18th, 2016 from 1:00-2:00pm at Cotten Funeral Home. Funeral will be held at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
