Obituary of Wilhelmina "Willie" Short Hradsky
IN THE CARE OF

Cotten Funeral Home

Wilhelmina "Willie" Short Hradsky, 93, of Minnesott Beach, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Born on August 8, 1932, in Saugerties, New York, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Frieda Short.

Willie was a cherished grandmother, mother, wife, and friend. Even at 93, she maintained her passion for reading. Sharp wit and humor filled the lives of those around her with joy, and she never missed an opportunity to make others laugh.

In addition to her parents, Willie was predeceased by her husband, Capt. Robert "Bob" Hradsky; her son, Richard Beyerl; her nephew, Terry O'Connell; and her sister, Alice Sperl, along with her brothers Jesse and Chester Short.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri Hradsky Morgan of Havelock, NC, and Tina Hradsky Medvik of St. Louis, MO. Willie leaves behind her grandchildren, Jennifer Creviston of Fremont, NC, and Alexandra Pranschke of Des Peres, MO, as well as five great-grandchildren: Shelby, Emmie, and Nellie Creviston, and Romano and Julia Cantrell. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Gerry Donlon of Saugerties, NY. Willie will be dearly missed by her close friends, Kim and Dave Stewart, as well as a host of other family members and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Animal Shelter in Memory of Willie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest privately next to her husband at Greenleaf Memorial Cemetery.

Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family and friends of Wilhelmina "Willie" Short Hradsky.
