He was a member of Cresent Masonic Lodge No. 32 in Cedero, W.Va. and Beni Kedem Shrine in Charleston, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Ruth Hardesty; one daughter, Jane E. Johnson and husband, Roger, of New Bern; two sisters, Helen Jane Knight of Lost Creek, W.V.; Donna Sue Cullen of Statesville; and one granddaughter, Sarah Jane Johnson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011, at Sherwood Forest FWB Church with Rev. John Moran officiating. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
