He was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2013. He was a fireman with Rhems Fire Department and worked for McLawhorn Farm as a farm engineer.
He is preceded in death by his mother Catherine Wood.
He is survived by his wife Nancy A. Wood; his son Simon Wood of Goldsboro; and his brothers Ray Wood and wife, Betty, of New Bern and Joe Wood of Florida.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Thursday, December 11 at 10:00 am at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804.
