

Wynn Dwayne Hamilton, aged 59, passed away in his sleep on June 14, 2026, in his Cove City, North Carolina home. Born on November 8, 1966, in Ft. Worth, Texas, Wynn attended Shephard High School and continued his education at Texas A&M. He served in the US Army from 1986 to 1990 as a diesel mechanic. Wynn was known for his witty sarcasm, straightforward honesty, and a generous spirit that made him ready to assist anyone in need. Wynn had a passion for all things racing and rodeo. Whether it was bull riding, drag races, car shows, or following NASCAR, he was deeply engaged and knowledgeable. His love for high-speed pursuits also extended to planes and boats, showcasing his wide-ranging interests in powerful engines and the thrill of competition.
Despite his private nature, his love for his friends and family was unmistakable. Wynn is survived by his Fiancé, Tabitha Hart; his brother, Steve Smith; sister, Lynn Kennedy; and his children, Craig and Kaleigh Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his son, Austin James Hamilton; his mother, Mary Jewel Hamilton; father, Wilford Eugene Hyatt; sister, Linda Creel; and niece, Michelle Alewine.
Memorial services for Wynn will be announced at a later date.
