Zachary (Zack) John Stellfox went to be with the Lord and his departed Marine brothers and sisters on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Zack was born on May 2, 1986, the son of David and Debbie Stellfox of Bedford, Pennsylvania.

On October 16, 2015 he married the love of his life and best friend, Jessica Lloyd of Morehead City, in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Zack is the grandson of Wendy and the late Thomas Cox of Bedford, Pennsylvania and the late Harry and the late Suzanne Stellfox of Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Zack is survived by his wife Jessica, children Hannah and Holden, Parents David and Debbie Stellfox, and Grandmother Wendy Cox, all of Bedford, Pennsylvania, his brother Jeremiah and wife Melissa and daughter Maya of Glen Burnie, Maryland, special Uncle, Bruce Stellfox of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, special cousins, Dan and Louise Stellfox of Chircora, Pennsylvania, as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Zack graduated from Bedford High school in 2004. He played on the high school soccer team, and was named Outstanding Defensive player of the year his senior year, He was manager of the BHS Boy’s track and field team for several years. He earned an Associate's Degree in Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Science. Zack was a member of Trinity Lutheran church in Bedford and Ruth's Chapel Church in New Bern.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2004, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and brother. He spent 8 years proudly serving his country and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. He was previously stationed at Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan. He is a veteran of Afghanistan and the Global War on Terrorism. He earned the rank of Sergeant in the Marine Corps. After leaving the Marine Corps, he worked for the U.S. Dept. of Navy at MCAS Cherry Point.

Over the years, Zack became interested in photography and started a small business, Stellfox Photography. The business grew quickly along with a part time job with Keller Williams, Donna & Team New Bern Real Estate company. In February, Zack decided to follow his dream and resigned from the Government with a total of 10 years dedicated to our nation. In May, he started full time with Donna & Team New Bern and continued Stellfox Photography.

Zack was only able to follow his dream for a few weeks, but he got to do what he loved! Zack loved his adopted community of New Bern. He often posted on Facebook and other social media platforms that he had been all around the world, but would never live any place other than New Bern, North Carolina.

Zack was a devoted husband and father. Hannah and Holden were his life and he often took his children with him on his photo shoots. He not only enjoyed his family, he loved to travel, visiting several countries overseas, and he loved taking pictures of planes in the area. When the New Bern National Cemetery had special events such as Wreaths Across America or the Memorial Day services, Zack was there doing what he loved and paying respects to the service members that went before him. He loved being with and taking pictures of the rides the VEMA did. He was a published photographer with pictures appearing in the local hometown magazine, the Visit New Bern Magazine, and the New York Times. His pictures have been sold all around the US.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 14th at Cotten Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Ral Alsbrook officiating. He will then be laid to rest with full military honors at New Bern National Cemetery. As a safety precaution, all guests are asked to wear face coverings and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers a Go Fund me Page has been established on Facebook to benefit Jessica and the children. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bedford, Pennsylvania.

Dave, Debbie & Family: So sorry to hear about the passing of Zach. I will always remember what a fine young man he was; the contributions and good times he had with soccer team, and of course great appreciation for his service to our country. I offer my prayers for comfort and pride in knowing that Zach was a special man who will be missed by his past teammates and fellow Marines. May God's blessings, grace, and peace comfort you and your family in this time of loss.

Zack Stellfox, I am honored and happy to have had you as my friend. You always had a smile to share and with that smile came words of wit and wisdom, both of which would spread that seemingly endless joy to those with whom you came in contact. You were a good egg. A good man who loved his wife and children each of whom was your light and life and those of us who knew you could tell this by how you would light up when you spoke of them or shared any of your many pictures capturing precious moments of your life with them. You were always willing to lend a hand and clearly enjoyed and made the best of every moment you spent in this world. Though I have only known you briefly, you made my life all the better for having known and shared this time with you and for that I cannot thank you near enough. I grew to love you as a brother and regret I never made the time to tell you so. You are missed Zack and will not be forgotten.

I remember every summer day playing outside (poor Zack never stood a chance with JD and I picking on him). Zack turned out to be an amazing man, husband, and father. He was such a funny and bright person with so much to offer this world. He will never be forgotten and will always be forever missed. Rest easy Skippy

Zack was a great man, and friend to me and my VEMA family. I loved having him around in our events. It didn’t matter if he was taking pictures. He was one of us. I am so happy he was recognized at our Kinston ballpark dedication. Mr Yates presented him with a small token of our appreciation for all he did. I was able to speak with Zack for quite a few minutes after the ceremony. I was so looking forward to getting to know him better. Such a warm, genuine, and happy man. I am so sorry for his untimely passing. God bless him and his family.
