
Zin's early life was marked by his education and career in engineering. He completed high school in Leppel, Belarus, and pursued further studies in the city of Gorki, Russia, where he specialized as a mechanical design engineer. His professional journey began in 1953 in Katav-Ivanov, Russia, followed by a move to Odessa, Ukraine. In 1980, at the age of 50, Zinovy emigrated to the United States, where he expanded his skills by learning computer technology and continued his work in engineering.
Beyond his professional achievements, Zinovy was a man of diverse interests and talents. He was an accomplished swimmer and enjoyed playing ping pong. Upon moving to the United States, he took up tennis and achieved remarkable success, securing second place in a national competition at the age of 80.
Zinovy Sharf is remembered for his dedication to his work, his passion for sports, and his enduring spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience and achievement that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Zin is survived by his wife, Sandra Sharf, of the home; daughter, Polina Sharf of Charleston SC; Step-daughter- Hollis (Ralph) Barbaro of Mt. Pleasant SC; 3 Grandchildren,Tanya (Ryan) Blatchford, Jacob Sharf of Charleston, and Jesse (Erin) Barbaro of Lexington SC; 4 Great- Grandchildren- Norah and Sophia Blatchford, Colton and Griffin Barbaro.
