Born in Marshfield, Missouri, Alan served in the United States Army before raising his family in Boerne and later residing in New Braunfels, Texas.
He worked as an airplane mechanic, a role that suited him well. Alan had a sharp mind and a strong determination to understand how things worked. He tackled problems head-on and expected things to be done a certain way—his way. His directness could be difficult at times, and relationships with him were not always easy.
He enjoyed long car rides, spending time outdoors, working on projects, watching NASCAR, and collecting and organizing music. Alan placed deep importance on family, bringing his children back year after year to visit relatives in various places, staying at his parents’ home in Mountain Grove during summer visits, and attending Lawson family reunions.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna; his children, Victoria, Olivia, Rachel, Daniel, and Claire; his siblings, Lee (Lessa), Mary (Paul), Ken, and Mike; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane Noble Lawson and Roy Lee Lawson, and his brother, Dennis.
Alan lived authentically.
We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown to our family during this time. Every call, visit, and act of kindness has meant more than we can express.
