

Alfred “Al” Campa, USAF Ret., passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels. He was born August 14, 1928 to Edward Campa and Magdalena (Batllia) Campa in San Antonio, TX. He proudly served in the United States Armed Forces during WWII, Viet Nam and Korea. He also retired as Head of the Hematology Lab at Brooke Army Medical Center after many years of service. He was a member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, San Antonio Cactus Society, San Antonio Geology Club and Southwest Gem and Mineral Club.
He is survived by son, Alfred Timothy Campa and wife Karen of New Braunfels; daughters, JoAnne Burch of TN and Sherry Campa Lanning of Seguin, TX; sister, Grace Bravo; grandchildren, Tiffany Campa, Darcy Peterson, Yvette Bynum and husband Mitchel, Wendy Willingham and husband Michael, William Burch and wife Tammy, Emerson Burch, Jr. and Ashlee Glen and husband Jason; 10 great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday at the Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held 8:30 AM Friday, August 13, 2010 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
