Anne Marie Chelland

Anne was born in Cape Girardeau, MO in 1947 as the 3rd daughter and the sixth of 12 children. She attended St Mary Cathedral Grade School in Cape Girardeau, MO and graduated from Notre Dame High School in St Louis, MO. Anne was a School Sister of Notre Dame for 18 yrs where she first fell in love with teaching special needs children. She furthered her education in this field with obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Harris Stowe State University. Anne held the School Sister of Notre Dame community very close to her heart and remained close with many friends until her death. She completed her education throughout her career culminating with a Master of Special Education Degree from Chapman University. Anne taught many years in Missouri and California before retiring in 2011.

Anne was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels TX where she was active in the ACTS Ministry, was a teacher in the parish CCD program and participated in the parish Adoration Ministry.

Anne loved to scrapbook with her sisters as well as keeping up with everyone in her extremely large family. Anne’s definition of family included everyone that asked for her prayers or support, and she always made sure you were included in her daily prayer list she faithfully presented to our God.

Anne is survived by her spouse Eugene, stepdaughter Alexandra, 2 grandsons Steffan and Christian, brothers-Robert (Marge), Michael, Thomas (Kathy), Patrick (Vivian), Gregory (Cecilia) Tony (Donna) and Vince (Maggie) as well as sisters Rose Lingle, Monica Buehrle (Sharman) and Carrie Weber (Jim). Anne is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her father Robert, mother Bernice, sister Julie, stepson Michael Jason, sisters-in-law Sharon and Colleen, brother-in-law Ron and nephew Christopher.

Public Viewing & Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on July 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the Holy Rosary at Zoeller Funeral Home on July 13, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 N Castell Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on July 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Light Reception and Gathering at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on July 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209, on July 14, 2026, from 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm.
