Thank you to the staff and physicians who provided loving care to our father while in your care. May God enrich and bless your lives for the care you provide to the sick and afflicted each and every day. We wish to thank mainly nurse Tamira at Northeast Methodist Hospital who was always checking to make sure everything ran smoothly in keeping our father and his family comfortable, looking out for all our needs during her shifts.
Up until the end Armando maintained his devotion in doing God’s work. He ministered to many residents in multiple nursing homes for years with his wife Mary, he was a deacon in several Baptist affiliated congregations, and offered his time to anyone who needed prayer. Armando Sr. always expressed to his family how much he loved them and shared the plan of salvation to anyone he met.
Our father was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. During his lifetime, he was born and raised by his mother in New Braunfels, TX. He worked at a very young age to help support himself and his mother from picking pecans and later at the New Braunfels Textile Company. He managed to purchase a house for him and his mother at the age of 16 and paid it off within 10-15yrs. He had a knack for real estate and owned several properties that he rented and later sold to several renters, friends and family members. During this time, he met the woman he knew he would marry and in less than a month from meeting our mother (Mary), he proposed to her. The rest is history. Armando and Mary raised their 5 children in New Braunfels, TX and were married for the past 62 years.
They raised eldest daughter Norma (married Terry Allred), Ramona (i.e. Mona Ellis), Velma (married Sandy Romo), Armando Sanchez Jr, and their youngest Mark (girlfriend Ah Young). The crowning glory for Armando was the arrival of grandchildren:
Born to Mona: Ashley Ann (boyfriend Sebastian) Villalon who gave Armando following great grandchildren: Evangelina, Skylynn, and Jazzlyn. Also born to Mona is Austin (Ellis).
Born to Armando Jr: Aranda (married Damian Natal) who gave Armando Sr. great grandchildren: Ayden, Mia, Mallory and Penelope. Also born to Armando Jr is Armando Sanchez III who gave Armando Sr a great granddaughter Eliana. The youngest daughter born to Armando Jr is Christina (girlfriend Bretta Harless).
Dad, we will miss you, immensely. You were our go-to when life got rough, our comfort when we needed clarity…you were OUR best friend. You were always someone we could count on and although you were how we named “Abe Lincoln” (term of endearment), you always got your point across without judgment. Your counsel encouraged us to be better human beings and to give rather than to receive. You were a man of honor and instilled in us the importance of following God’s teachings not only by reading the word, but being doers of His word. Our hearts ache because we no longer have you by our sides to hear your corny jokes and seeing you act silly with us but we know that you are where you longed to be…in the presence of our Lord who promised to give you everlasting peace. We love you forever, dad. Rest in peace.
A Visitation for Armando will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will occur Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Cibolo Valley Baptist Church, 5500 FM 1103, Schertz, TX. Interment will immediately follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 TX Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
