Jo was born in Wiergate, Texas, to Benjamin Franklin Bean and Flavia Lavine. She went on to live in New Braunfels, and spent a good deal of her life in Nederland, where she built a career at Dupont and a reputation as one of the best-dressed women in town. Jo never met a manicure she didn't love — her nails were always done, and she carried herself with a glamour that turned heads throughout her life.
She knew how to enjoy life. Whether she was cheering on her favorite football or basketball team, or sitting quietly in her backyard watching for cardinals — her favorites — to visit, Jo found joy in the small things and never let a good time pass her by. Her dachshunds, Rudy, Tootsie and Harley, were always close by, happy to keep her company.
Jo is survived by her daughter, Vicky; her three grandchildren, Tyse, Tori, and Taylor; and her three great-grandchildren, Cash, Valen, and Luci — all of whom will carry a little bit of her sparkle with them.
Those who knew Jo will remember her as glamorous, good-humored, and full of life right to the end. She will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at Gruene United Methodist Church, 2629 E Common St, New Braunfels, TX 78130 at 10:00am followed by Burial at Cox Family Cemetery, Cox Rd, Blanco, Texas.
