Bianka A. Scheel, 97 of New Braunfels, passed away on August 10, 2024 at Mercy House in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born to Henry F. Schneider and Hilda nee Dierks Schneider in Barbarossa, Guadalupe County, Texas.
Our beloved Oma, as she was known by all of her family, lived every minute of her 97 years, and she displayed that joy of life to her friends and family often. She and Milton (Opa) loved to fish and spend time at their river house on the Guadalupe River. They were typically successful while fishing, and they would share their catch with large fish fries. Oma would cook for the masses and her food was always better than anyone else's. Her children and grandchildren would probably agree that the fondest memories were made during the many weekends spent at the camp house fishing, cooking, catching fireflies and playing in the river. Cooking was one of her love languages. She always had large meals for her family and friends but also spent many years working as the cook at T-Bar M Tennis Ranch and then at Happy Days Day Care. Oma would go over and above for kids, and always made sure that holidays were a special time. Easter eggs were hidden amongst the pecan trees in her yard for multiple age groups, Easter baskets were given out to all from birth to adulthood and Santa appeared every Christmas while the grandkids were young. Oma loved to bowl and spent many days on the 9-pin lanes in the surrounding area. In her later years, Oma still played cards with a group of friends. These games were serious! However, it is possible that their importance may have been amplified by their speaking in German. Her smile and her joy and her love will carry her family through these days that sting of loss.
She is survived by daughter, Bridget Lehmann; daughter-in-law, Dixie Scheel; grandchildren, Amber Barrett (Jason), Sara Bogler (Matt), Shannon Lehmann (Melissa), Audrey Mata, Aaron Scheel, and Sandy Powell; grandchildren, Adley, Adison, Beau, Teagan, Cayman, Christian, and Mark; nieces, nephew and extended family. She was preceded in death by parents, Husband Milton, sons, Gary, Ronnie; daughter, Mindy Williams; daughter-in-law, Joy Scheel; son-in-law, Robert Lehmann; grandson-in-law, Brett Barham; sister, Viola Lange (Reinhold).
Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday, August, 22, 2024 at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. A funeral Service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Comal Cemetery.
