He was born on January 22, 1936, in Collin County in Texas, to Howard Kay Logan and Edna Loleet (Harris) Logan.
After graduating from Alla High School in Celina, Texas, in 1954 he joined the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force on January 1, 1979, after 24 ½ years of service. After his military retirement, he worked for Midtex Oil, Inc. in New Braunfels, Texas and the Internal Revenue Service in Austin, Texas. He retired from the IRS in 2012.
Boyd married Sheri Sahm on February 20, 1971 at Chapel #1, Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, Texas.
Boyd is survived by his wife Sheri of 47 years; his son Kevin Logan and his wife Joy; his daughter Teri Crowe and her husband Scott; two grandsons, Ian and Brady; his brother Lynn Logan and his wife Patsy, son Wayne Armstrong and his family, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Howard Eugene Logan.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and aides at Frank M. Tejeda State Veterans Home and Kindred Care for their excellent care of Boyd.
The Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Zoeller Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Private inurnment services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later day.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
