Brenda F. Smith

Brenda Fay Smith of New Braunfels went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 66. She was born in St. Louis, MO on February 24, 1952 to Otis and Lois Mizell. Brenda later met the love of her life, Walter L. Smith, and married him on May 6, 1973. She enjoyed bingo, bunko, and bowling, but most of all loved spending time with her grandkids and spoiling them. Brenda will be remembered for her kind heart and always wanting to give to others in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Lois Mizell; her loving husband, Walter L. Smith; and her sister, Joyce Lopanec and husband Red Lopanec.

Brenda is survived by brothers, Marvin Mizell (Donna) and Sammy Mizzell (Carolyn); sons, Billy Joe Smith and Bobby Joe Smith (Renee); daughter, Melissa Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Smith and fiancé Joel Coble, Kalin Smith and fiancé Justin Jones, Stephanie Herfurth, Denise Herfurth, Lauren Smith, and Annie Burkhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. The Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday at Zoeller Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
