I was Brianna’s fourth grade teacher. We aren’t supposed to have favorites, but she was mine. She was one of those kids you just can’t help but love. She was smart, a little difficult some days, sassy all the days, and so incredibly funny. Man, she made me laugh. She had an adult like sense of humor, and had a heart of gold, but she would also tell you like it was if she felt you were out of line. She marched to the beat of her own drum and was uniquely beautiful. I’ll never forget the way she would come barreling around the corner in her Minecraft pajamas screaming my name so excited to share her urgent news with me or my partner. Everything was exciting and urgent. She made a mess and was the most unorganized but she always knew where her stuff was. When we went virtual during Covid and I couldn’t see her everyday, she was the first one to log onto Google Meets every day and the last one to log off. She would send me Seesaw messages with old MySpace photos she found when doing internet searches of my name and would caption them with “wow, Ms Toye, you don’t look like this anymore!” I would reply with “yes, Brianna. That’s because I’m old now and stay off the internet.” Then I’d text all my friends and tell them about it and we would laugh. She was just so much fun. Her never ending shenanigans and her spunk were my favorite things about her and she was truly the best part of my day, every day. She is a rare soul that grabbed onto my heart and will be there forever. She is one you don’t forget and I always hoped life would take her some place beautiful and I prayed the world would see in her what I did. Incredible potential. An absolute gem. Brianna was precious and loved and I am so incredibly saddened by the tremendous loss of this remarkable little human. To the Savage family, especially Shelly…my heart breaks for you. She loved you so much. This picture I’ve kept because it perfectly captured who Brianna was in my classroom. Happy to be there. Full of joy.

This is how I will remember Brianna! Fearless, as she is on that roller coaster without a care in the world. Brave, as she navigated new places and new faces in middle school.  Giving, and a lil attitude-e, but we all are.  She loved the cats! I heard about Bowzer daily. 
Grieve,  talk or just sit quietly, take time, be upset, call me. I’ll sit with you. 💕

Shelly & Ron & the entire Savage family---I'm deeply sorry for the pain and anguish you all must feel over the loss of your beautiful daughter. It was so shocking, so sudden, I'm still in disbelief.

Our children are OUR world and I will keep you all in my prayers. As for Brianna---may her soul be at peace.

When I was there to help with her  grandpa in 2016 she  was 5. She  always made my day with lots of hugs and wanting to sit on my lap. I would tell her stories and we would laugh. Her little  smile made everything okay even though it wasn’t. She was the apple of her grandpas eye. He was always much better when she was there. God  took you way too soon  my sweet little girl. You are safe with  Him now. RIP Brianna

When I first met Brianna it was with a very colorful greeting. But as days passed I got to know her, she loved her cat, the color purple, those fabulous natural curly hair she had and that she didn't like the Disney movie Encanto (I think that's how to spell it, I never saw it). What I did noticed was the big heart she had for her family. She made a point to tell them in person or while on the phone, that she loved them. It was a blessing to have met you all and an honor to have known her for a short while.
She is the bright shining star looking down on you by night and the Red Robin visiting you by  day.
