Bryan better known as Tom to his family and friends, was born on May 9, 1960 in Midland, TX to Raymond (Ray) and Ruth Jenkins. He graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Odessa TX in 1984 with a BA in Land Management. Tom worked in the family business, Jenkins Jewelry in Midland TX, until he graduated from college. He then went on to work as a land man in the oil and gas industry until he retired to play and teach golf. On November 11, 1992, he married Susan Byrd Jenkins. They blended a family with two sons, John (JD) and Richard, and one daughter, Bryann.
Tom had a passion for all things sports, especially the game of golf. He love playing the game but his greatest joy was teaching others how to play. He loved music and loved to dance, and for a big guy at over 6’5” tall was light on his feet. He was known for his big personality and his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Ray, and his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his wife Susan, his three children, JD, Richard, and Bryann, his grandchildren Caley, Jacob, Emma, Brooklynn, and Charlotte, his brothers Scooter and David and his sister Helen, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A public viewing and visitation will be held on March 20th, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Hagee Ministries Sanctuary of Hope in San Antonio Texas or one of your favorite charities.
