

Carmen P. Morales, 78, of New Braunfels, passed away, on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in New Braunfels. She was born to Zeferino Puente and Socorro Posada (Nañez) Puente in Crystal City, Texas on April 22, 1934. Carmen was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was very active in church life. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Union Funebre Padres de Familia. She owned and operated several restaurants over the years, in Ohio as well as in New Braunfels. She was very well known for her fantastic cooking and especially for her homemade tamales. She loved spending her pass time playing Scrabble, gathering together with family and friends, singing and also keeping in touch with others through Facebook.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Sue Carrillo and husband Cundo of New Braunfels; step-daughters, Dolores Olivarez and husband Alex of Michigan and Anita Olivarez and husband Fidel of Michigan; granddaughter, Natalia Carillo Davis and husband Jonathan of Kyle, TX; grandson, Eric Rollins of North Carolina; and 2 great-granddaughters; sisters, Delia Barboza and husband Guadalupe of Ohio, Rosa P. Bourque and husband Doug of Ohio, Aracelia Flores and husband Florencio of New Braunfels, and Marta P. Young and husband Marc of Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Natividad Morales; sons, Edward Morales, and Richard Morales; brother, Humberto Puente and sister, Angelina Hernandez.
The family would like express their thankfulness to the following individuals for all of their love and support, Mary Knox, Betty Kelly, Emma Quaid, Kathy Maxwell. And also to the group of Church Belles friends at Sts. Peter & Paul Church and also to the Catholic Daughters who were all so dear to Carmen.
Public visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with burial to follow in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given in her memory to the Mission of Divine Mercy of Canyon Lake, Texas.
