Carolyn Jo (Johnson) Guenther

Carolyn Jo Guenther, 84, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Elan Westpointe New Braunfels. She was born to Robert L. Johnson and Bertha Bagley Johnson on February 5, 1942 in Falls County, Texas.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Willie Guenther on May 4, 1958. She worked at the Mission Valley Textile Mill for over 40 years and later worked with her son's landscaping and lawn business. She really enjoyed the outdoors, taking long walks, going on hunting trips and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherial Herfurth and husband Gary; son, Robert Guenther and wife MJ; grandchildren, Chris Herfurth and wife Veronica, Ashley Tedford and husband Kyle; and Joey Adam; great-grandchildren, Caden Herfurth, Bryson Herfurth, Rowan Herfurth, Peyton Tedford, Kaylee Tedford, and Aidan Adam; sister-in-law Anabelle Acker, Joyce Guenther; and brother-in-law George Preusser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Gloria Preusser; brothers-in-law, Clinton Guenther, Harvey Acker, Harvey Schlater, Clarence Wenzel and Harlan Guenther; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Brandt, Sylvia Wenzel, Inez Guenther and Martha Schlather.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Elara Hospice and Elan Westpointe for all their care and support.

Carolyn was very adamant she did not want any funeral services.

We really do not know how we will survive without you. It will be difficult every day. But we will forever hold your memory, your smile, your laughter and all the good times in our hearts.
