Carolyn Ann Self

Carolyn was born to James and Maxine Carr on June 21, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio.

Carolyn experienced many things in her life. She witnessed the death of Dr. Martin Luther King while living in Memphis plus she met Elvis Pressley as a teenager.

She moved to New Braunfels, Texas and was employed by VW for 20 years. Her duties included assisting dealers in 5 states. After leaving VW she began teaching at Smithson Valley High School for 15 years.

Carolyn met Bob Self at Gruene Hall in 1993 and they were married in September 1993. Carolyn has a son William Mitchell, wife Laura, and a daughter Carrie Mitchell plus a granddaughter Alexis McKay. Also step children Mark Self, Gregory Self and wife Stefanie, Rita Free and husband Brent plus 4 step granddaughters Kaitie Free, Kori Free, Emily Self and Madison Self.

She is preceded in death by parents James and Maxine Carr and sister Sharon Gardella.
