

Charles Schumann was born October 25, 1934 to Ben and Meta (Schmidt) Schumann. He graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1952. After graduation, he served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1955. He married Patsy Thompson on May 23, 1955. He began working for what is now Centerpoint Energy as a meter reader in 1957 and worked his way up to marketing representative before he retired in 1996.
He was a member of American Legion Post 35, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7110, Military Order of Cooties, The Last Patrol, Elks Lodge 2279, Fraternal Order of Eagles 2999, Masonic Lodge 1109, and Comal County Sportsman Association.
Charles enjoyed spending time with family and helping others. His hobbies were gardening and fishing and he enjoyed watching football games on TV. He was a volunteer at Audie Murphy VA Hospital. Charles is loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors are his wife Patsy Schumann, sister Betty Timmermann, daughter Angela Whorton, son Steve Schumann; two nieces Linda Collins (Kevin) and Sandra Keith; three nephews Rodney Timmermann (Dona), Russell Timmermann, and Ray Timmermann; three grandchildren Brandon Whorton (Alicia), Reanna Whorton (Chris), and Brian Charles Whorton; five great grandchildren Jada Clancy, Lainey Peterson, Wade Whorton, Garrett Dave Whorton, and Silas Jai Whorton; and good friend and care giver David Miller.
Visitation will be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Sunday Sep. 21, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will also be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Monday Sep. 22, 2014 at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of one's choice.
