

Charlie Perdue Jr. was born on October 4, 1941, to the union of Charlie Perdue Sr and Lorraine Perdue, both who preceded him in death. Charlie Perdue was the only son from that union, 3 sisters who preceded him in death: Betty Johnson, Lucille Perdue, and Irene Perdue. He also had 4 adopted siblings Leslie, Craig, Charles, and Cookie one which preceded him in death.
Charlie Perdue later married Crystal Moore in 1968 and 4 children were born to that union and eight adopted. Two of his biological children preceded him in death Rita Moore (2014) 3 grandchildren and Myrion Perdue (2020) 9 grandchildren.
Charlie Perdue known to many as “Pops” always greeted you with a smile and loved to play cards, if there was a card party going on Pops was a part of it. Pops also loved fishing and bragging about his catch that he had to let go. Pops was known for his candid phrases “Poke roll and grits for dinner or Pudding and walk-away sauce and well known for the way he answered the phone by always saying “Yellow”. Pops was a Sanitation Worker Supervisor for city of Chicago for many years which he did retire. He later moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2014 where he lived until his passing.
Charlie Perdue Jr. leaves to cherish his sister Mary Mian. Nine children: Veda McCormick (Samuel) , Raquel Crawford (Anthony), Freda Perdue, Tanyatta Whaley (Ronny), Jazzmon Perdue, Brent Perdue , Robert Perdue, Simeon Perdue, Kenya Perdue. He also leaves to cherish his 24 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A Visitation for Charlie will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. The Funeral Service will occur Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A burial will occur Friday, December 10, 2021 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 TX Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
