Rodney, Michelle and the entire Bauwens/Garza Family

It is with heavy heart that I right this memory.  Chase was  a great guy that clearly had a huge impact on all who knew him.  I had not seen Chase for many many years and while JD and I were at the Biergarten in Marion a few months ago, Chase walks up to me and taps my shoulder and say “Hey Mrs Bridget, do you remember me?”  He was so happy and proud of his son Cash and girlfriend.  He was proud of the person he had become and just could not stop smiling.  We talked for about 20 min. and that boy smiled the entire time.  He gave me a hug and  told me how good it was to see me, asked if he could buy me a beer (I respectfully declined) and he went back to the party he was there with.  

This was kid that clearly had a plan for himself and his little family.

I regret that I am unable to pay my respects, I am down with a viral lung infection.  Your family will be on my mind and heart today as you say your good byes.

Rest In Peace Chase!

Chase made this cross for us many years ago to display at Christmas.  We have always cherished it and always will.  We display it now to  honor Chase.   We will always remember Chase and his siblings swimming and fishing in the tank with our grandchildren.  Great memories! Rest in peace Chase. We love you!

I was there the day you came into this world, I remember like it was yesterday. You were so ready to arrive that the doctor barely made it to the room to witness your debut! I remember going to the nurse's station telling them "he's coming! Better hurry!"  You hit the ground running and didn't let anything stop you. I remember you were always the "runt" of the group, small in size, but large in life. Quick to smile, the first to try anything, the last to quit anything. Though I didn't see you grow into a young man up close, I did see  from afar. May your heart and soul rest in peace, you will forever live on in my heart. Until we meet again. My condolences to the Bauwen's family.

I remember when Chase was a toddler and he did not want to sleep alone.  He would fall asleep on the floor right in front of his bedroom door.  As a result, you could see his cute, blond hair popping out from under the bedroom door.  He never wanted to be alone.  I will miss him and his infectious smile forever.

He is survived by parents, Rodney and Michelle Bauwens, brother, Brandon Bauwens, Sister, Madisen Bauwens, girlfriend, Ashlin Garza and and her parents, Tammy Garza and Victor Robert and Tina Garza,  son, Cash Michael Bauwens, grandparents, Rick and Marilyn Heiser, Clarence and Sue McGowen, Judith Ohlschwager and Don Ohlschwager; Leo and Sharon Jasik; Aunts, Susie, Kelly, Sandra, Michele; Uncles Robert, Michael and Cookie, numerous other cousins , loved ones and tons of friends.
