

Clifford O. Hoegenauer died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on December 13, 2016 at the age of 93.He is survived by his wife, Victoria (nee Rakowitz), daughter, Yvonne Hoffmann and husband, Sam of New Braunfels, sons; Glenn and wife Lavonne of Kingsbury, Dwight and wife, Cindy of New Braunfels, Keith and wife, Kathy of New Braunfels and Douglas and wife, Tammy of Marion. He is also survived by sister Eunice West and husband,
Donald of Chaska, MN. Nine grandchildren, Travis Hoffmann (Brittany), Tyler Hoffmann (Ben), Justin Hoegenauer, Emily Hoegenauer, Kevin Hoegenauer, Kelsey Hoegenauer, Kara Hoegenauer, Kyle Hoegenauer, and Shelby Hoegenauer. Two great grandchildren, Ethan Hoegenauer and Lesley Gully.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Otillia Hoegenauer of New Braunfels, sisters Alice Hoegenauer and Nelda Hoegenauer Prophit, and two
grandchildren, Amber Hoegenauer and Krista Hoegenauer. He is a descendent of Johann Carl Schaefer, one of the original settlers of New Braunfels. He served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Afterwards he worked for Civil Service at Randolph AFB along
with farming and ranching which he continued into his retirement. He will be remembered for his service with the Marion Volunteer Fire Department,
Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. In addition to his compassion for animals, and stewardship of the land and natural resources; he instilled in others the price of Freedom, love of country, respect for those who served, and the right to vote.
