Dale A. Dehlin, 41, Canyon Lake, died Sunday, February 19, 2012. Dale was born September 22, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan; he grew up in Connecticut and Virginia before moving to Canyon Lake in 1994. He received his B. A. for George Mason University in 1993.
He leaves his beloved wife, Terri Dehlin of 17 years, his son, Bryce, his mother Karin Dehlin of New Port Richey, FL and his sister Lori Bell and husband Steve Bell along with two nephews, Christopher and Adam Bell of South Riding, VA. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Cathy Calnan and sister-in-law Beth Thomason of New Braunfels, Texas. He is predeceased in death by his father, Bruce A. Dehlin and his father-in-law Gary S. Calnan.
Dale was employed by Rooster Group since April 2007. He was previously employed by McCoy’s Building Supply, Builders Square and Hechinger’s. It was at Hechinger’s that he got his start in the home improvement industry. Dale not only took pride in his community but truly relished the friends he made during his time of active community service. He was recently elected a trustee of the Comal Independent School Board. He served as the President for Canyon Lake Little League from May 2004 to June 2005 and was involved with the league since Bryce’s first t-ball game in March 2001. He coached all levels of Little League from t-ball to this year’s senior team. In the last few years he also served as an assistant district administrator to District 31 East Texas. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Canyon Lake Volunteer Fire Department from 1994 to 1996. He was a current member of William R. Singleton-Hope-Lebanon Lodge #7 A.F.A.M. Washington D.C.
Services will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 1620 Common Street, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall. A family Masonic burial will be held at a later date.
