David K. Jentsch

We are sad to announce that David K. Jentsch of New Braunfels, TX passed away October 28, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born in New Braunfels on January 19, 1934 to Robert and Paula Jentsch. In David’s last days he was surrounded by his kids and grandkids and passed away peacefully in the home he had lived in for 52 years.

In the 89 years that David lived, he was many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a cadet engineer for the navy for 3 years, a husband, a truck driver, a hard worker, a dad and a pawpaw. David enjoyed fishing and hunting and sitting on his back porch enjoying the red birds after he retired from Merchant Freight Lines and he could fix or build anything. His land was his world. He loved talking about his family being part of the first settlers here in New Braunfels.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Paula Jentsch and his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Jentsch. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Jentsch; sons, Kyle Jentsch and Joey Jentsch; and grandchildren, Amanda Nicholson and Enrique Gallardo.

A special thank you to Hope Hospice in New Braunfels for their loving care and support during his final days.

A Graveside service will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Guadalupe Valley memorial Park.
