

Cibolo, Texas – Dawn Ailene Burnett, 48, of Cibolo, Texas, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at 5:43 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, following a courageous seven-month battle with metastatic melanoma.
She was born at 7:19 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 1965, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Shirley A. (Bohner) Adelblue, who survives in Ohio City, Ohio, and the late James M. Adelblue, Sr. On June 15, 1985, she married Kendall G. Burnett, who survives in Cibolo, Texas. Together they had three children: Steven George (Aubrey) Burnett of San Antonio, Texas; Kyle Adam Burnett of Cibolo, Texas; and Sarah Elizabeth (Matt) Townsend of Schertz, Texas.
Other survivors include her two grandchildren: Steven George Burnett II, and Kylie Jolene Burnett; and her siblings: James M. (Cherrie) Adelblue, Jr. of Ohio City, Ohio; Deborah R. Baldauf of Mendon, Ohio, and; Sheri L. (Rich) Kline of Ohio City, Ohio.
An Air Force wife, Dawn provided love and strength to the family throughout eight assignments, a remote tour, a deployment, numerous temporary duty assignments, and finally at her home in Texas. She was a homemaker, had provided home daycare services, and taught children’s Sunday School classes as well as Vacation Bible School.
Dawn was a 1983 graduate of Ohio City Liberty Schools, Ohio City, Ohio, and was a member of Ohio City Church of God, Ohio City, Ohio, and Live Oak First Baptist Church, Live Oak, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., at the Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Donald R. Valenta, presiding. Burial will follow immediately after in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, Highway 46, New Braunfels, Texas.
