Dennis Michael Brown passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 69. He leaves behind his wife, Peggy Stapleton Brown; and his daughters, Mary Brown and Emilie Snider.
He was born on September 19th, 1949 in San Antonio, TX to his father Verdie Brown and mother Emilie Moeller Brown, who both predeceased him. He grew up in a large, loving family with his four siblings; Charlene Brown, Darlene Pipkin, Cindy Peyton, and David Brown.
Dennis joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and served as an air traffic controller for ten years. While on leave in the military, Dennis met Peggy on a blind date that was arranged by his sister Darlene, and they were married four months later on August 5th, 1970.
After his service in the military, Dennis attended Southwest Texas State University and graduated with an Agricultural Science degree in 1981. He then began teaching at Jack C. Hays High School in Buda, TX in the Agriculture program and worked there for three years. Dennis then started his career at Lafarge Corporation where he worked for fifteen years with his final position being the Distribution Manager of their plant in Cleveland. Dennis and his family then moved back home to New Braunfels, TX in 1999 to be closer to their family. He then partially retired and became a very active member at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Mission of Divine Mercy. Dennis had many hobbies that included hunting, fishing, and golf, but he enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything.
Dennis is survived by his wife, two daughters, siblings, and his two grandchildren; Josiah Marcus Snider and Sara Lynn Snider.
Dennis requested to be cremated. His ashes will be interred at the family plot in Leakey, TX. A rosary and memorial service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 8th at 7PM. His funeral will take place at the Mission of Divine Mercy on Wednesday, January 9th at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Mission of Divine Mercy.
