

SGT Diego A. Rosales, Sr. - U.S. Army Retired, 63, of New Braunfels, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, December 13, 2012. He was born to Julian Rosales and Maria (Acevedo) Rosales in Saginaw, Michigan on September 5, 1949. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an Infantryman in the 1st Infantry Division – “The Big Red One”. He also retired from the Symon’s Corporation in New Braunfels after many years of employment.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Rosales; son, Diego Rosales, Jr.; daughters, Michele Lynn Resurez and husband Roel and April Marie Rosales; grandchildren, Diego V. Rosales, III, Rodolfo M. Ybarra, III, Jaseña G. Rosales, Aden K. Jara and Carolina M. Jara; mother, Maria Luisa Cruz and step father, Agapito Cruz; step mother, Angelita Rosales; sisters, Guadalupe Anaya and Celia Garcia; brothers, Fidel Acevedo and wife Maria, Jose Angel Rosales and wife Lucy, Juan Rosales and wife Narcisa, and Julian Rosales, II and wife faith.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Rosales, Sr.; sisters, Soledad Tristan and Evangelina Saucedo; and brother-in-law, Frederick Anaya.
Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Wednesday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Reverend Camillo Botello, MSF - Celebrant. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
