

Dolores was born Jan. 7, 1931. She was the wife of the late Valentine Estrada and also preceded in death by her second husband Fernando Vargas. She was the mother of the late Lawrence Lee Estrada.
Dolores is survived by her grandchildren Lawrence Val, Gina, John, Alida, Mandy, Adam, Teresa, and Eric. Also, her sisters Mary and Angie along with numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dolores was born in Waring, TX. and relocated to New Braunfels around 1960. She studied to become a licensed vocational nurse and worked for the Eden Home for over 30 years.
Dolores was a passionate caregiver to the many residents of the nursing home. The Catholic Church was very important in her life. She was an avid swimmer and taught many children how to swim. She loved daily walks, was in a bowling league, and loved taking the R.V. on weekend excursions to the coast or the hill country. She also loved gambling and took several trips a year to Las Vegas. In her earlier years you could find her every Saturday night at the country and western dance hall.
Visitation will be from 5 pm until 9 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Zoeller Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The funeral procession will depart Zoeller Funeral Home at 9:30 am Wednesday September 24, 2014 for a 10 am Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
