Dora Cedillo Medley was born in Comal County on April 27, 1935 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2023. Dora is survived by her daughters, Diana Lynn Medley and Melvina Medley Turner (Martyn) and her son, Ray Medley (Jessica). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony Zamora (Sarah), Aaron Weymouth and Gage Medley as well as her great grandsons, Joey Zamora, Viktor Zamora, Evan Zamora and many other nieces and nephews as well as so many close friends. She is preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Wayne Medley, her parents, Julio and San Juana Cedillo, brother, Serapio Cedillo, sister, Beatrice Santos and grandson, Steven Zamora.
Dora worked at Randolph Air Force Base for 43 years (civil service) followed by another 10 years for Comal County in the HR Department. She was known for her cooking and making food for her offices, parties or functions. She loved taking care of all the Military Airmen that came through MPC as they left their homes and allowed her to become a second mom -- feeding them her well-known breakfast tacos and homemade salsa. In her younger years, she was very involved in various positions in her home church, First Presbyterian Church of New Braunfels. But the most important thing in her life and what she was most proud of, were the 3 children she raised.
Her final years were spent traveling to Cancun with family and friends. She also loved her pups, Dexter and Dasher who miss her so much along with her cat, Jersey. Dora was a child of God and her entry into Heaven was surely a beautiful one! The family wishes to thank New Century Hospice who cared for her while she spent her final months at home in LaVernia, Texas.
