Dorothy Lee Haecker Herfurth

Dorothy Lee Herfurth “Omie” passed away on December 25, 2016 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born Dorothy Lee Haecker to Erwin Haecker and Lena Pfeil Lehmann on January 19, 1929 in Bexar County, Texas. She married Arthur Herfurth at First Protestant Church in 1947 and started their family in 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur (Atzie) Herfuth; sons Allen and Dennis; two half-brothers, Clifton and Robert; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Herfurth.

She is survived by her children Glenn, Karen and husband Henry, Gary and wife Sherial, Nancy Carranco and husband Angelo; daughter-in-law Renee Herfurth; grandchildren Jason Herfurth, Brian Mosley, Marsha Herfurth, Katie Mosley, Christopher Herfurth, Ashley Tedford, Stephanie Herfurth, Denise Herfurth, Lauren Carranco, Emily Carranco; eleven great-grandchildren; and one half-brother, Jerry Haecker and wife Helen.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The family would like to say a special thank you to her caretakers, Milly Morales and Ofelia Pena, for their services as well as their loving friendship they shared with Dorothy. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice New Braunfels.
