Edward Joseph Glisky Jr.

Edward Joseph Glisky, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026 at the age of 88. He was born on July 29, 1938 in Montevideo, MN and grew up in Appleton, MN. He attended St. Thomas University and served in the Army. He met the love of his life, Karen, in 1960 and they married on September 1, 1962. Together they raised their 5 children, living in St. Paul (MN), Antwerp (Belgium), Spring (TX), and New Braunfels.

Ed worked 42 years at 3M Company before retiring in 2000. He started in the mail room, but ended up traveling all over the world with the International Division and all over the southern United States when he returned stateside. He forged many lifelong friendships throughout the years. It was more than just a job for him.

As a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, he was very honored and humbled when he was selected to receive the Lumen Gentium Award. He volunteered for many church activities (always with a smile and a few jokes!) until his battle with Parkinson's no longer permitted him to do so. He served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and you could always find him working the fish fries. He started the 12:10 Rosary about 30 years ago, which is still in place today.

He was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as Grand Knight and as a State Officer. Working alongside his brothers in Christ brought him great joy.

A pastime of Ed's was volunteering at the New Braunfels Visitor Center. He loved meeting travelers and sharing his love of New Braunfels. He also had a passion for yard work, home renovations, and woodworking.

Through everything he did, Ed's personality shone through. He was a friend to everyone, always found a way to interject humor, and kept everyone entertained with his many stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward, Sr. and Della, and brother, Jerry.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karen (Rossow); son, Paul (Linda) and grandchildren, Ian and Misha; daughter, Julie; son, John (Laurel) and grandchildren, William and Robert; son, Tom; daughter, Jennifer Hill and grandchildren, Daniel and Grace; sister-in-law, Pat Glisky; brother-in-law, Jerome (Sharon) Rossow; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
