Ella E. Eagan

Born Ella Herrmann on January 6, 1944 in Lithuania, she was the second oldest of four daughters born to Ewald and Sophie Herrmann. As a young girl, Ella immigrated to the United States through Galveston, Texas, and eventually settled in New Braunfels. In 1962 she married Roland Penshorn, of New Braunfels, Texas. She later remarried to John Eagan of San Antonio, Texas, in 1982. Ella worked for Randolph Air Force Base for over twenty years, and then later owned her own business in San Antonio.

Ella is survived by her son, Duane Penshorn, wife Christine and granddaughter Naomi; her son Michael Penshorn, wife Rhonda and grandsons Blake and Brent; sisters Trudy and husband Rolf Arndt, Minnie Altum, and Brigitte Schaefer; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents, Ewald and Sophie.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Zoeller Funeral Home, with the family present to greet friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Zoeller Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will follow in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
