Ellen Marie (Donovan) Edge

Ellen Marie Edge grew to become a remarkable woman. Ellen received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Nigeria while living with her mother, sister, and missionary step father. Ellen went on to serve in the United States Air Force where she met her husband, Justice Wesley Edge, whom was serving in the United States Army. Following her honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, Ellen began her life-long career as a scientist at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During the course of her career, Ellen received two Master's Degrees. Her husband, Justice Wesley Edge, spent his career as a civil engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers and in the US Army Reserves. Ellen and Justice had two children. Their first child, Justice Winfred Edge, became a structural engineer. Their second born, Jessica Winona Edge, became a catholic nun and is now Sr. Victoria Marie with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist. Ellen's son went on to marry Janelle Lynn Hurt and they have a daughter named Emily Erin Edge. Emily is Ellen's pride and joy. Emily has graduated college and now resides in Colorado with her fiancée Johnathan Michael Knotts. Throughout her life, Ellen had a passion for creating art. Upon her retirement, much of Ellen's time was devoted to painting and creative crafts. Ellen Edge is loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Ellen is survived by her children, daughter Sr. VIctoria Marie (Jessica Winona Edge and son Justice Winfred Edge and wife Janelle Lynn Hurt and granddaughter Emily Erin Edge.

Ellen is predeceased by her husband Justice Wesley Edge; parents Joseph T Donovan and Emma Jeanette Long Newcomb; sister Barbara Jean Bowen.

A visitation for Ellen will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A graveside service w/ military honors will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Peebles Cemetery, 2878 FM 1988, Goodrich, TX 77351.
