Enrique Martinez

Enrique Martinez “Opa”, 85, of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his home. He was born to Abundio Martinez and Librada Paredez Martinez in Comal County, Texas on January 19, 1931. Enrique worked many years as a truck driver for several local construction aggregate companies. He really loved the outdoors; working in his yard and also watching TV. He was a devoted husband to his wife; father to his children; and had a very close circle of friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Estella Moreno Martinez; daughter, Judy M. Caballero and husband Paul of San Antonio; son, Ramiro M. Martinez and wife Mary Helen of New Braunfels; daughter, Blanca E. Hernandez of Corpus Christi; son, Henry Martinez of Austin; daughter, Pamela Moreno and husband Paulino of New Braunfels; daughter, Cora Venecia of New Braunfels; Elizabeth Gonzales-Reyna and husband Cornelio of CorpusChristi; son, Rene Martinez of New Braunfels; son, Jeff Martinez of New Braunfels; brother, Hilberto Martinez of New Braunfels; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 daughters, Teresa Gutierrez and Sandra Aguilar. The Family would like to thank all of the Doctors, nurses and staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center; The New Braunfels WellMed Clinic and the Embrace Hospice for all of their special care.

Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Sunday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will begin again Monday at 8:00 AM at the funeral home and continue until 9:30 AM when the service departs in procession to the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery #2.
