On December 31, 2023 Eudene Marie Moore passed away at home in her sleep. Eudene preferred to be called Marie. She grew up on a farm in Muscadine Alabama with 3 sisters and 8 brothers. She would often tell us stories of her early life on the farm. She joined the Navy when she was 20 years old and was stationed in the San Francisco area where she met her future husband JB who was in the Air Force. After her enlistment she married JB and soon started a family having 2 children Jay and Rhonda.
Marie had a strong passion for dancing while growing up and was offered a job at a dance studio in California. After discussing it with her husband they decided instead on the security and adventure of military life. During the next 23 years they moved many times and were stationed across the U.S. and abroad from Alaska to Italy sharing many adventures along the way. JB retired from the Air Force after 23 years and worked another 12 in civil service. They moved to New Braunfels in 1996 and built their dream home.Marie's passion for dancing inspired her to help start a formal dance club in New Braunfels with the dances held at the New Braunfels Civic center. Over 100 couples joined. Marie and JB enjoyed sharing and teaching others the pleasures of formal dancing. Marie was truly blessed to have had such a beautiful adventure packed life.
Marie is survived by her son Jay, brother Hulan, and granddaughters Jessie and Jennifer
Preceded in death by parents Vester and Lillie, daughter Rhonda, sisters Irene,Videra,Virginia, brothers Harold, Herbert, Herman Hobart, Hoyt, Harvel, Harlin.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Zoeller Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Bartlett officiating. Interment will be held in Fort Sam Houston at a later date.
