Eugene Dale Moser

Eugene Dale Moser of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on September 10, 2026 at the age of 75. He was born in Henrietta, Texas on May 24th, 1951. He was a loving husband, father and Papa who loved football, hunting, fishing, gardening , and making his pickles and hot sauce for friends and family. He was a loving husband to his high school sweet heart of 50 years Debra June Moser.

He is preceded in death by his wife Debra Moser, his daughter Shauna Moser, his parents Theo and William Moser and his brother William Moser. He is survived by his daughter Mindy (Jeremy) Dubicki, Grandson’s Benjamin and Casen Dubicki, and Aaron Moser and his Granddaughter Lillian Dubicki.

Growing up in Henrietta, Gene spent many days working on the farm “slinging hay bales” as he would say and putting shingles on houses. He would say that's how he knew he was going to go to college because he “never wanted to work outside all day in that heat again". And that’s when football entered his life and he knew that was his ticket to college. He began to play football in Junior high school and never looked backed. Gene shined as a running back and made the All Star Team for the Henrietta Bear Cats. Gene was then recruited by University Of Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor University, Colorado State University, The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, University of New Mexico, University of Houston and Texas Christian University where he went on to play as a Linebacker for the duration of his college career.

He graduated from Texas Christian University in Kinesiology then went on to be a Teacher and Coach for 35 years starting at Henrietta, then Ennis where they went on to win the state title his first year of coaching. Then he went on to Channelview, Kingwood, and retiring after 35 years at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas. Along the way he made lifelong friendships that became family.

Gene will be remembered for his love for his family, his love for making you laugh till you cried, how he could make friends in a room full of strangers, his kindness but yet stubbornness and his love for the TCU Horn Frogs and the Dallas Cowboys.
