Eugene Isaiah Owens, age 92, born April 29, 1926 in Akron Ohio, to Ernest Isaiah and Norma (Siler) Owens, died peacefully at home May 17, 2018, in New Braunfels. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene (Swanson). He is survived by his children: Craig (wife Sally) of Waxahachie, TX; Peter (wife Cathy) of Harbert, MI; Paul (wife Sandi) of New Braunfels; Lori (husband Todd Crawford) of Bloomfield Hills, MI; and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He sat in the back pew his whole life, loved his wife, retired from the US Naval reserve as a commander, and worked 55 years in the automotive marketing industry. He was beloved.
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." I Thessalonians 4.13-14.
