Evelyn Elizabeth Silvers

Evelyn Meckel Silvers passed away peacefully on January 15, 2018 at the age of 95. She was born in New Braunfels on March 14, 1922 to Ida Guenther Meckel and Willie Meckel. After graduating from New Braunfels High School, she married Ray Silvers on July 16, 1940. They lived a beautiful life together for 49 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ray Silvers. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Schlameus; brother, Charles Meckel and wife Patsy; daughters, Lynn Silvers, Cindy Carter, and Bonnie Engler and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Lee, Greg and wife Gina, Mark, Todd, Tami and husband Greg and Kimberly; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jake, Katherine, Paul, Lucas, Sofia, and Zachary.

The Funeral Service for Evelyn will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 1 :00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Sattler, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn's honor, to First Protestant Church or to another charity of one's choice.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Sundance Parkway, for the care and attention they gave Evelyn. This was a great comfort to her family.
