Frances McConnell

Frances Schiesser McConnell went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born in Abington, PA. on February 9, 1919 to Frank and Ruth Schiesser. Frances graduated from Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania at age 20. She was an All-American field hockey player during her college days. She later married the love of her life, John Dean McConnell in December of 1944. They were married for 67 years up until John’s passing in April of 2012. They’ve been residents of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada and Texas. Frances taught at several school districts throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio and presented a summer course for several years at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Dean McConnell and sister, Catherine Rice Williams.

Frances is survived by her three sons, John Lawrence McConnell and wife Joan, Frank Joseph McConnell and wife Donna, and Charles Thomas McConnell; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hope Hospice in New Braunfels, Texas or to the Canyon Lake Presbyterian Church, Canyon Lake, Texas.
