Gary S. Plank

Gary was born in Pennsylvania to Jack and Twilla Plank on January 15,1947. He married Janice Marsh Plank in November of 1993 in Galveston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Minnesota. He worked as a special education teacher and tennis/swim coach for Clear Lake High School. He served in the US Navy in his early life. He was involved in the United States Tennis Association and participated in many tennis tournaments throughout his life, earning many trophies.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Jack E. Plank and Twilla Belle Yohe Plank

Gary is survived by his wife, Janice Marsh Plank, his stepdaughter Karen Helsley and her husband Richard L. Helsley Jr., his sister Linda Sue Weatherwax, sister Sandra Lou Whitehead, Lorraine Kaye Smith and brother Gregory Wayne Plank. Gary has a grandson Regan Helsley, 24, and a granddaughter, Savannah Helsley, 21.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday September 12, 2026 at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas.
