

Geneva Bernice Greiner, of Arlington, Texas, passed this world to her heavenly home on July 24, 2013, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, TX, while visiting her son, David, and family. Memorial Services will be August 10, 2013 at 2 pm at The Arbrook, 1101 East Arbrook Boulevard in Arlington, Texas.
Bernice was born to Claude and Tempe Burns on March 29, 1924 in Yale, Oklahoma. Her mother and father passed early in her life. Just prior to her father’s death he had remarried and Bernice was raised by her step mother. On December 18, 1941, she married Russell Junior Greiner in Drumright, Oklahoma.
Bernice was a Rosie the Riveter in Tulsa, OK, during WW2 while waiting for her husband to return from the Philippines. Upon his return they moved to Pauls Valley, OK where he was employed by Texaco. She was a stay at home Mom during most of our upbringing. From Pauls Valley they moved to Hominy, OK, and lived there for 8 years. After that, they were transferred to Elkhart, KS. While in Elkhart, Bernice worked as a bookkeeper for an oil field firm. In 1983 they moved to Lampe, Mo where they had purchased a resort on Table Rock Lake. Her husband passed away shortly after that in Sept. 1983. She and her son ran the resort for 10 years prior to selling it. Bernice was never deterred by hard work or hardship. They then lived in Missouri for a short while before moving to Texas.
Bernice was one of the first residents of the Arbrook in 2002 establishing many new friendships throughout her years there. She was always there to help anyone in the facility in time of sickness or anyway they needed help. She will be dearly missed by all.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1983, and her father, mother, step mother and step-father Floyd and Belva Wilkerson.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie and husband Craig Savela, Ruscella and husband Jack Blease and son Russell David and wife Melody Greiner. Also grandchildren, Sean Newlin, Fawn and husband Billy Stobaugh, Cody and Stephanie Chiles and Russell Dustin Greiner. In addition she was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Kaylie Rae and Kayden Russell Stobaugh. Also a brother Claude Burns and sister-in-law Dorothy Laughlin.
