Gloria Sue (Brown) Stone

Gloria was born in Chicago, Illinois to Gary and MaryAnn Brown on September 11, 1957. Moved to Joliet, Illinois with her family in 1966. She attended high school at St. Francis Academy in Joliet, where she graduated in 1975. She went on to earn her degree from Purdue University in 1980. While at Purdue, she was a proud member and President of Sigma Kappa sorority. Gloria married Ron Stone on May 26, 1990, in Austin, Texas. She dedicated more than 30 years of service as a pharmacist with CHRISTUS Hospitals.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Brown; and her uncle, William Grudzien.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ron Stone; her daughter Rachel Stone (Caleb Matull) of Cibolo, Texas; her mother, MaryAnn Roccasalva of New Braunfels, Texas; her stepson, Matthew Stone (Elizabeth) of Tomball, Texas; and her grandchildren, Stone Matull, Marcus Stone, Joseph Stone, and Steven Stone.

She is also survived by her brother, Brian (Cathy) Brown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her sister, Laura (Bob) Tuttle of Summerville, South Carolina; her brother, Glen (Shari) Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister-in-law, Margaret Stone, of Lakeway, Texas; and her aunt, Doris Grudzien, of Roselle, Illinois.

She lived a life marked by kindness, faith, humor, generosity, and a deep devotion to her family. She had a special place in her heart for anything Christmas. Gloria was a devoted fan of Chicago sports teams as well as her Boilermakers. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service and celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area in honor of Gloria's love for animals.
