Harriett Elaine Almaguer

Harriett Elaine Almaguer was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Jim Almaguer; her only daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Grebe, and son-in-law, Travis Grebe. Of all the titles she held throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being “Queeny” to her beloved grandsons, Harrison Otto Grebe and Ennis James Grebe.

A woman of steadfast Christian faith, Harriett’s love and devotion to the Lord was undoubtedly the most important part of her life. Her unwavering trust in God’s promises guided her home to rest in heavenly peace for eternity. She is no doubt dancing among the most beautiful gardens of Heaven as we speak.

As a passionate gardener, Harriett cherished spending time in the Lord’s creation, surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants of every kind. She loved sharing this passion with everyone she met and and joyfully passed that same love of gardening on to her daughter.

Professionally, Harriett worked in the Human Resources Department at Mars, Inc. for more than 20 years, serving alongside executive leadership. With exceptional organizational and clerical skills, she wore many hats, often taking on responsibilities beyond her regular duties. She accomplished each task with diligence, excellence, and grace. She was especially proud of her dependability and often shared, with a smile, her perfect attendance record.

In June of 1987, Harriett married the love of her life, Jim, and together they shared nearly 40 wonderful years of marriage. They found so much joy building a life together in their little ranch house in Richmond, making it a home. With a true servant’s heart and unwavering work ethic, Harriett worked alongside Jim as they tackled countless home projects, cared for horses, planted flower gardens, and together, they turned their dreams into reality.

Over the years, Harriett and Jim welcomed family and friends into their cozy little home for fish fries, backyard carnivals, birthday parties, holidays, and many other gatherings. It wasn’t the size of their home that made it special—it was the laughter and love that filled it. Harriett ensured that everyone who walked through the front door felt like family. The memories made there will be remembered for generations.

When Sarah was born in February of 1993, Harriett stepped into the role she treasured most—being a mother. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a homemaker and full-time mom, pouring her heart into every season of motherhood. Whether it was organizing school fundraisers, cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, chaperoning field trips, or celebrating life’s milestones, she was always present. Through her selfless love and devotion, she created a place where warmth, encouragement, and unconditional love welcomed everyone who entered.

Harriett was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Her family considers every moment spent with her and every memory made together a precious gift. Her infectious personality, joyful spirit, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She never met a stranger and was a fiercely loyal friend to many. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel special and always went above and beyond for those she loved. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Harriett’s Life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of New Braunfels, 230 S. Guenther Ave., New Braunfels, Texas 78130.

A luncheon reception will immediately follow the service.

In keeping with Harriett’s joyful spirit and love of life, the family respectfully requests that guests wear colorful attire rather than traditional black as we celebrate her beautiful life.

All who knew and loved Harriett are welcome to join us in remembering and honoring her remarkable legacy. Please join us as we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a faith faithfully kept.
