Herbert Herman Laubach passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013. Herbert was born in Honey Creek/Wetmore, Texas to Emil and Emilie Laubach on January 6, 1925. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mae (nie Biermann) of 65 years, his 3 children, and their spouses: Kenneth Laubach and wife, Victoria, Kathleen Wimberly, David Laubach and wife, Lisa; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Carlton Biermann and wife, Nita, and many nieces and nephews. Herbert was predeceased by 4 sisters, Nora Real, Erna Freitag, Cecilia Moos and Gertrude Schumann.
Herbert married Dorothy Biermann, the love of his life, from Comfort, Texas, in 1948. They worked hard on their family ranch in Honey Creek, and then moved in 1956 to live in New Braunfels on a small farm, while Herbert continued to work for the Texas Highway Department as an Engineer. He was a member of Anhalt for over 50 years. Together, with Dorothy, led many a Grand March at different wedding venues. Their band “Herbert Laubach and the Rhythm Pals” provided music for Bulverde Community Center’s first dance which was held on December 31, 1951. Over 10 years they supported the monthly Country Music Shows in New Braunfels. Herbert was an avid NBHS football fan, and supporter of the Unicorns, 4-H, FFA, the Comal County Junior Livestock Association and the Knights of Columbus.
Herbert leaves behind a legacy of character of integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, friend to many, and a loving man, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. His friends and family will keep his memory alive with their remembrances.

Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Vigil Service and Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2014 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with interment to follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
